Latasha Stamps, Camp Instructor / Head Coach (Tougaloo College, Jackson, MS)
Latasha brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience from the collegiate level.
As a student athlete, Latasha was member of the 1998 & 1999 Seward County Lady Saints Volleyball Program where she was a part of two NJCAA nationally ranked teams, back-to-back Jayhawk League Champs, and Region VI championship teams. After graduating from Seward County CC, Latasha finished her playing career at Jackson State University.
After completing her career as a student athlete, she served as a graduate assistant for the Jackson State Lady Tiger Volleyball program from 2002-2003, before stepping into the assistant coach role from 2004 - 2011. During her time at JSU, Stamps offered a specialized knowledge of the defensive aspect of the game as well as playing a very hands-on roll with middle blockers and outside hitters. In addition to assisting with the daily operations of the volleyball program, Stamps also oversaw the strength and conditioning program for the volleyball program. She assisted with in the development of numerous all conference players and 2 SWAC Player of the Year award winners and in 2011 the Lady Tigers won their first Southwestern Athletic Conference title in school history and made their first trip to the NCAA Tournament (University of Nebraska Regional). Currently, Stamps is entering her second season at Tougaloo College, where she seeks to bring a winning pedigree to the Bulldogs.
Stamps graduated from Jackson State University with a bachelor’s in psychology and a masters in Rehab Counseling. A native of Beaufort, South Carolina, Latasha resides in Flowood, MS with her husband Chris and their two sons Chris Jr (12) and Cameron (7).
Christy Alvillar, Camp Instructor, Coach Summit Volleyball Club, Dallas, Texas
Christy brings coaching skills from both club, high school, and collegiate levels.
Christy is entering into her 16th year of coaching club volleyball. She is currently coaching at Summit
Volleyball Club located in Dallas, Texas. She has coached teams aging from 14's - 17's for club volleyball. She is also currently the JV Coach at Hockaday School.
Her coaching experience also includes an assistant position at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Not only has she coached volleyball at the collegiate level, but she also played at Texas A&M University - Commerce. She was also Head Coach for 7 years at Life School in Dallas, Texas.
As a player Christy received many honors. In high school she was named All-District all four years. Her senior year she was named to her All-State team. She then went to Seward County Community College, a Junior College in Liberal, Kansas. While there she was part of a team that made history by going 52-2, that year they placed 5th in the nation. She then finished her career at Texas A&M-Commerce where she was named to the All Conference team 3 years in a row.
Christy received her BS from TAMU-C in Business Management and is currently working as a Special Programs Coordinator at an elementary school. She is also IMPACT certified.
